Madrid, 19 May 2025<\/em> \u2013 The European Central Bank (ECB) has selected PFSTECH<\/a><\/strong> to participate in the pilot of its new innovation platform for the digital euro. The Spanish company will take part in this testing environment through K\u00edneox, its solution specialised in the automation of payments and digital collection processes.<\/p>\n

The ECB initiative aims to test, under real conditions, the most promising use cases of the digital euro as a new European monetary infrastructure<\/strong>. Only seven Spanish entities have been chosen for this experimental phase, placing PFSTECH as one of the most relevant tech players in the digital payments space.<\/p>\n

Use cases focused on programmable payments<\/h3>\n

Over the next nine months, PFSTECH will operate within the ECB\u2019s regulatory sandbox to explore advanced functionalities of the digital euro, such as smart payment programming. This includes, for instance, automating payment commitments linked to specific dates, events, or agreements<\/strong>, thanks to programmable wallets with guaranteed fund availability.<\/p>\n

These types of operations could enhance the traceability and reliability of collections, reduce traditional frictions such as liquidity failures, and increase the overall efficiency of the system.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Innovation with a European impact<\/h3>\n

Participation in this pilot forms part of PFSTECH\u2019s strategy to lead the technological transformation of the financial ecosystem through scalable and applied solutions. The company, with international presence and a growing network of institutional clients, will provide the ECB with findings and improvement proposals following the test phase, actively contributing to shaping the future of money in Europe.<\/strong><\/p>\n
